ADA / Handicap / VA PROJECTS
  >> Hello, My name is Jeff George, President and Owner of Superior Quality Construction. I have more than twenty years experience in the industry and would love to have the opportunity to work with you.

Being a Veteran, I truly enjoy making the homes of Veterans with disabilities usable and accessible for them.  In fact, I have spent the last few years working on residential homes to meet handicap, wheel chair and accessibilty requirements, doing everything we can do to make life easier for our clients.

Using the expertise I have acquired in all areas of home accessibility improvement for severely disabled Veterans, we are now offering our construction services to the general public, including all people with disabilities.

No job is to small....Small details are my specialty. I take tremendous pride in all aspects of my work and serve my customers with reliability, honesty and professionalism.  SEMPER FI
The ADA requires that new construction and alterations to existing facilities comply with the ADA Standards for Accessible Design1 (Standards). ADA requirements for new construction and alterations include detailed provisions for elements, spaces, and facilities. Successful accessibility is often measured in inches, so attention to detail can make the difference between achieving access and excluding or injuring someone. When the ADA's minimum requirements are not met, the results can limit or exclude a person with a disability and can be dangerous. For example, when a curb ramp extends into an access aisle at an accessible parking space, a person using a wheelchair may not be able to get out of the car or van. When the slope of a sidewalk that is an accessible route becomes steeper than 1 to 20, railings and edge protection are required for safe use. Objects that project into circulation spaces from the side or that do not provide at least 80 inches of head clearance can be extremely hazardous to people who are blind or who have low vision.
If you or a family member has special needs, Superior Quality Construction (SQC) is experienced at solving home & commercial design challenges for those with disabilities.  Solutions as simple as grab bars can lead to injury if not installed correctly.  Ramps have to be built according to established codes.  ADA compatible tubs and showers have to be reinforced correctly, not only under the base, but behind the walls as well.  All these projects and many more have established written codes for how they are to be installed and constructed.

SQC is an established California, Licensed and Insured General Contractor, performing Commercial & Residential building, remodeling and restoration regardless of size and complexity of the job.  SQC has experienced craftsmen that will complete your project on time with quality workmanship at competitive prices, from any size remodeling project to totally new construction, we take your project from design to completion.
In part due to the advent of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and also in part to an increasingly aged and aging population, interest in accessible design has come on strong and will no doubt continue to be of great interest.  The requirements of the ADA, and subsequently of California Title 24, are not required in private residential buildings but this does not mean that many clients aren't interested in applying these concepts to their home.  Quite the opposite, we get a great deal of inquiries and interest in this area.
